Week 12

Still suffering from scrotal numbness/aching. I have recently been doing some high impact exercise and notice the day after I do have an ache between my legs. I am going to try badminton this week as I play in a league and can’t wait to get back in to it.

Flow is consistently normal and more powerful when drinking more fluids but this increases the amount I need to urinate in a day. I can easily go 4 hours between my first wee in the morning and my second even after drinking a flask of tea and a glass of water. It really is a noticeable improvement!

Week 11

The only problem I am now experiencing is the scrotum numbness. This doesn’t seem to be getting any better. There are certain areas particularly at the bottom of my scrotum where I have little to no feeling. Often this can be uncomfortable after exercise or a full day at work.

Week 10

So I’ve noticed the last week my stream has reduced again. It is not the power hose it was 3/4 weeks ago. Frequency of urination had not changed. That still remains great. I am feeling very depressed about this as it really has knocked my confidence with the success of the surgery. I honestly don’t know if this is to be expected and what my flow rate is etc until I attend my first follow up in February. I may see my GP just to rule out any infection.

Week 9

Things are still stable. My flow seems good. I’ve noticed that depending on how much you drink alters the strength sometimes. More fluid intake usually results in a stronger, more powerful stream. I have noticed from listening to my partner who had a healthy stream that his also is different. Sometimes it’s really powerful, sometimes it isn’t. I’m trying to compare as I really do not know what normal is.

i have noticed some small changes in direction as I am urinating. I was told to expect some ‘spiralling’ of my stream due to the slight extra curve in my urethra. I do notice some aches between my legs after urinating sometimes and my testicle pain continues to improve however the scrotum is still numb in places. Anxiety levels are still sky high with the ‘what if’ thoughts. I also done my first high impact level of exercise this week and i did not experience any discomfort. Just made sure to wear Y fronts. I┬áhave my first 3 month follow up in February.

Week 8

Its the start of week 8. This is going to be a very short post as there has been no change since last week. Everything is settled which is a good sign i suppose.

Tomorrow I go back to work for the first time in almost 8 weeks. As I am a teacher i ended up with my recovery going in to the Christmas holidays. I was ready to go back to work at the end of week 6.

I found my previous medical records from years ago when going through some folders for the shredder, right back to when I was 13 and had my first set of dilations. I may scan them in and post them up here. Some records are from 1997. Can’t believe I have lived with this for 20 years.
